Founded in 1993, the Breakthrough Technologies Institute (BTI) promotes advanced environmental and energy technologies and policies that promote sustainability and urban betterment. BTI has conducted numerous public education and outreach activities and published a variety of technical documents in fuel cells, air quality technology and policy and public transit.

BTI's Fuel Cells 2000 program provides information to policymakers and the public about fuel cells and hydrogen. Among other things, Fuel Cells 2000 offers the most comprehensive source for fuel cell information in the world via its web site, www.fuelcells.org. The site is internationally recognized and has won numerous awards. Fuel Cells 2000 has published a many technical and non-technical papers on fuel cells and hydrogen.
