SUSTAINABLE ENERGY COALITION ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR EIGHTH ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY EXPO AND FORUM

Invites Interested Exhibitors to Register While Space Remains

WASHINGTON, DC, May 6, 2005 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- The Sustainable Energy Coalition today announced plans for the Eighth Annual Congressional Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency EXPO to be held in Washington DC on Tuesday, June 21.

The event, to be co-hosted with the U.S. Senate's and House of Representatives' Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Caucuses, will be presented in the Cannon Caucus Room (room 345) of the House Cannon Office Building from 10:30 am - 5:00 pm

More than 50 businesses from across the United States are expected to participate and to demonstrate more than two dozen sustainable energy technologies. A noon-time news conference will feature congressional and Administration speakers. Free ice cream and soft drinks will be available to all attendees.

Previous EXPOs have attracted more than 2,500 visitors including Members of Congress and their staff, Executive Branch officials, members of the media, and interested members of the public.

Supplementing the EXPO will be a day-long Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Forum in the adjoining House Veterans Affairs Committee room.

The Forum will feature films during the morning demonstrating how the cross-section of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies actually work.

That will be followed by two panel discussions in the early afternoon focusing on the near and longer-term potential of sustainable energy technologies and the policy initiatives needed to realize that potential. Finally, there will be a series of presentations by companies exhibiting at the EXPO.

There are still a number of booth and table spaces available for interested exhibitors.

Priority is being given to exhibitors that are:

  • for-profit businesses,
  • having 25+ employees,
  • with real products or services in the marketplace now
Interested firms should contact Ken Bossong at 202-293-2898, x.201.

The Sustainable Energy Coalition is a coalition of 85 national and state business, environmental, consumer, and energy-policy organizations founded in 1992 to promote public policies that favor increased use of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.
